CoreWeave Launches 22.5 MW Copenhagen Data Center in Denmark as AI Network Expands Into Seven New Countries

CoreWeave, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWV) said on October 27, 2026, that it has expanded its global AI cloud platform with new computing capacity in Denmark and a broader reach into the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

According to the company, the move is intended to strengthen its delivery of the performance, reliability, and connectivity customers require to build and scale AI workloads in international markets.

CoreWeave brings Danish data center online

The new Danish site is atNorth's DEN01 data center in Copenhagen, where CoreWeave has brought the majority of its planned 22.5 megawatts of IT capacity online. This is CoreWeave's first deployment in Denmark.

The facility is accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell systems connected with NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand. With DEN01 added, the company's European footprint now spans nine data centers across five geographies, counting the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, and Norway alongside the new Danish site.

DEN01 operates under a heat reuse agreement that supplies surplus heat to the district heating network, reducing reliance on alternative heating sources and contributing to Denmark's green transition.

atNorth chief executive Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson said modern workloads demand digital infrastructure that is not only high performance but also energy efficient and responsibly operated.

He noted that CoreWeave gains access to infrastructure designed for GPU-intensive processing while supporting renewable energy development through power purchase agreements and warming local homes through heat reuse.

Petabit-scale backbone extends to UAE, India, Singapore, and beyond

In parallel with the Danish capacity, CoreWeave is constructing what it calls the first global AI backbone network purpose-built for AI workloads, operating at petabit scale and linking locations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

New points of presence are planned in the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Korea, and Japan, starting later in the fourth quarter of 2026 and reaching a full loop in mid-2027.

The build-out extends the company's existing network across North America and Europe to four continents, giving customers more direct connectivity to its AI cloud platform.

The backbone architecture combines multiple 400 gigabit-per-second connections at each point of presence, hardware-based MACsec encryption to protect data in transit, and redundant network paths intended to preserve performance and reliability across regions.

CoreWeave said these capabilities let customers move large datasets and reach computing infrastructure without sacrificing the speed or security their workloads demand.

Executives frame expansion around reliability and data movement

CoreWeave chief operating officer Sachin Jain said customers need more than access to computing capacity; they need infrastructure that performs reliably at scale and the ability to move data and workloads wherever their business requires.

He added that the company is expanding both its global infrastructure and the network connecting it, so customers can concentrate on building and improving AI rather than managing the complexity underneath.

The company positioned the announcement within its fully integrated, purpose-built AI cloud platform, which it says reduces the infrastructure complexity that can slow AI development and deployment.

CoreWeave expands global AI infrastructure capacity

As AI workloads move into production across more industries and geographies, CoreWeave said customers require computing capacity where they operate and the ability to move large volumes of data securely and efficiently between regions.

The announcement follows recent CoreWeave expansions in Indonesia and India, which the company says reflect continued investment in the infrastructure supporting AI development and deployment globally.

As of June 30, 2026, CoreWeave operated 51 data centers worldwide with more than 1.5 gigawatts of active power, and it reported approximately 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power as of its August 11, 2026 earnings call.

CoreWeave has delivered record-breaking MLPerf benchmark results in inference and training and is the only AI cloud to earn the top Platinum ranking in SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX three times in a row.

Who the companies are

CoreWeave, founded in 2017 and publicly listed on Nasdaq in March 2025, brands itself as The Essential Cloud for AI. The company says its platform enables innovators to build and scale AI with confidence and that it is trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises.

Its Copenhagen partner, atNorth, is a Nordic data center company headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, offering high-density colocation and built-to-suit services. atNorth operates seven data centers across the Nordics and has four mega sites under development in Kouvola, Finland; Ølgod, Denmark; Sollefteå, Sweden; and Haugaland, Norway, along with an additional metro site under construction in Stockholm.

Its facilities run on renewable energy resources and support circular economy principles.
