DayOne has obtained a further USD 3.67 billion in multi-currency financing to advance the development of its data centre platform in Johor, Malaysia.
The latest transaction brings its combined financing platform to USD 7.34 billion, following an initial USD 3.67 billion funding package secured in 2025.
Seven Banks Arrange Offshore Loan and Murabahah Facilities
CIMB, Credit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB arranged the financing. Each bank served as a mandated lead arranger, bookrunner, and joint coordinator.
The package consists of a USD 2.4 billion offshore term loan and a USD 1.34 billion Murabahah facility. In a joint statement issued on October 13, the banks described the transaction as supporting Malaysia’s expanding position in regional digital infrastructure.
Johor Strengthens Its Position as a Data Centre Destination
The participating lenders highlighted Johor’s connectivity, established infrastructure, skilled workforce, and proximity to regional markets as key factors attracting investment.
The financing coincides with rising demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital services across Asia-Pacific. Growing computing workloads are driving the need for additional data centre infrastructure throughout the region.
