Pure Data Centers Group has closed a USD 780 million Platform Growth Facility that carries a USD 1.1 billion accordion, giving the Europe- and Middle East-focused hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure platform a framework capable of reaching roughly USD 1.9 billion in total commitments.
The company said the deal adds three lenders to its roster and widens the pool of institutions funding its expansion. Citigroup Global Markets, First Abu Dhabi Bank and Infranity are the new entrants to the facility.
They join incumbent lenders ABN AMRO, Allianz Global Investors and SMBC. Pure DC said the enlarged group spans global banks and institutional investors drawn from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
Cash Earmarked for Pipeline Delivery and New Site Purchases
Proceeds from the Platform Growth Facility are designated for the company's development pipeline and for buying future sites across its European and Middle Eastern footprint. The deal lands on top of an unusually active financing year. May brought USD 2.7 billion, split between a USD 2.15 billion facility secured on the Dublin and Amsterdam campuses and a corporate-level facility raised to USD 550 million.
July saw a further USD 1.46 billion of committed senior debt secured for Phase 1 of the Seinäjoki AI campus in Finland. Cumulatively, the past 12 months have produced more than USD 6.2 billion in financing, which Pure DC says provides the flexibility to execute its growth strategy and underlines its standing in the European and Middle East data center markets.
Chief Financial Officer Mike Schwartz said the arrival of new banks and institutional investors reflects confidence in the company's assets, customer relationships and delivery record. In his view, the facility strengthens the corporate funding base, sits alongside the campus-specific financing already arranged and creates a framework for raising additional capital as the pipeline advances.
Chairman Ties New Capital to Power-Secured Sites and Delivery Teams
Gary Wojtaszek, Executive Chairman and interim CEO, framed the new lenders as a strong endorsement of the company's differentiated strategy. He characterised Pure DC as a pan-European and Middle East cloud and AI infrastructure operation built on secured power sites and staffed by teams with a track record of delivery, a combination he said gives customers and lenders confidence that the pipeline can be converted into operating capacity.
Wojtaszek also cited momentum beyond the balance sheet, pointing to repeated recognition for sustainability, environmental transformation and engineering. The additional financing, he said, gives the company greater capacity to advance that programme.
Six Trophies Cover Sustainability, Engineering and Project Delivery
The financing announcement follows a run of 2026 awards across sustainability, engineering and project delivery. At the Reuters Global Sustainability Awards, Pure DC took the Business Transformation Award, while at the Green Awards UK it won both Green Business of the Year and the Green ICT, Media & Telecommunications Award. The company attributes these honours to a sustainability programme embedded in how its infrastructure is designed, built and operated. Elements include lower-carbon energy solutions, reductions in water use and embodied carbon across campuses, and carbon removal investment through its climate technology subsidiary, A Healthier Earth. Project-level recognition includes the Dublin campus microgrid, named New Build Project of the Year at the center Review Excellence Awards and Digital Infrastructure Project of the Year at the Building Innovation Awards. The AUH01 campus was named a national winner in the Industrial Project of the Year category at the MEED Projects Awards. Across the six company and project awards, together with individual honours, commendations and shortlist placements, the company says the recognition demonstrates progress on its sustainability, engineering and people programmes.
Banks Position the Deal Inside Wider Digital Infrastructure Theses
Executives from the lending group offered their perspectives on the transaction. Timo Buijs, Co-Head of Digital Infrastructure Finance at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., said the bank was pleased to support Pure DC with the strategic Platform Growth Facility, enabling further infrastructure developments and platform growth, and congratulated the team on the increased capital support at what he called a very important moment.
Ashish Agrawal, Global Co-Head of AI Infrastructure Coverage at Citigroup Global Markets, described the financing as an important milestone for Pure DC and evidence of lender confidence in the company's strategy, platform, asset base and execution capabilities. Citigroup Global Markets, he said, is proud to play a leading role in supporting Pure DC's continued expansion across key data center markets. Georgios Tzimas, Investment Executive Director at Infranity, said the firm is pleased to support Pure DC and Oaktree in the continued development of an international hyperscale data center platform.
The investment, he noted, fits Infranity's strategy of backing essential, asset-intensive infrastructure supported by long-term demand fundamentals, and shows the firm can provide sizeable and flexible capital to established sponsors and management teams entering the next phase of growth. Luke Hanson, Managing Director and Head of TMT at SMBC, said the bank is delighted to continue supporting Pure DC as the business enters its next phase of growth.
He highlighted that the further diversification of the funding base equips the company with resources for future growth underpinned by access to power and a focus on asset quality and delivery. SMBC's participation extends an existing relationship spanning cloud and AI infrastructure across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The facility arrives amid accelerating capital formation in the data center sector, and Pure DC says a year of financing activity has positioned it to convert its development pipeline into operating capacity across its core markets.
