A delegation from Tây Ninh province has completed a survey visit to Taipei city, Taiwan (China), where it met with World Vision United Group and examined the workings of an artificial intelligence data center (AI Data Center).
Delegation travels to Taipei to examine AI data center operations.
The trip also took the delegation to the YiDi construction project in Taipei's Datong district, which was reviewed as a reference for the model under discussion. The visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the province to study how AI-focused data infrastructure operates in practice before considering a large-scale proposal at home. The working session with World Vision United Group, which hosted the delegation, centered on the specifics of an AI data facility rather than a conventional data center.
200MW facility with USD 700 million investment put forward for Nam Tân Uyên
During the working session, a consortium comprising investor SAIGONTEL and its international partners put forward a proposal to develop an AI data center at Nam Tân Uyên Industrial Park in Tây Ninh. The project is expected to occupy 20 hectares within the industrial park and is designed for a total capacity of 200 MW.
Under the proposed phasing, phase 1 would deliver 100 MW of that capacity. The total investment figure attached to the proposal is 700 million USD. The facility would be dedicated to artificial intelligence workloads, according to the agenda of the working session, distinguishing it from conventional data facility models. The full 200MW capacity would sit within the single 20-hectare site at Nam Tân Uyên.
Provincial leadership frames data center as digital economy driver
Speaking at the working session, leaders of Tây Ninh province said the locality is paying close attention to the AI Data Center proposal. In the province's assessment, the sector holds potential to promote the digital economy, draw high-tech investment to the area and generate momentum for transforming the local growth model.
The provincial leadership indicated that the field aligns with the direction the locality wants to take as it seeks new drivers of economic development. The statement was made during the same session at which the SAIGONTEL consortium and its partners presented the investment proposal.
Feasibility study to follow further technical exchanges
At its current stage, the proposal remains a subject of study rather than an approved project. Tây Ninh province said it will continue exchanging with the investor and its international partners to clarify requirements across several areas, including infrastructure, energy, technology, scale and the implementation roadmap.
According to the provincial leadership, the outcome of these clarifications will serve as the basis for studying the feasibility of the 200 MW project. No approval decision or construction timeline has been announced at this point.
