US Data Center's $3 Billion Contract Potential Draws Fresh $55 Million Bet From Ault & Company
Ault & Company's fresh $55 million investment in Hyperscale Data targets its Michigan AI data center, where potential contract revenue could exceed $3 bill
Research Desk
Hyperscale Data has reported that it has invested more than USD 70 million into the Michigan AI data center, which is owned and operated by Alliance Cloud Services, LLC, its wholly owned subsidiary referred to as ACS.
A Contract That Could Exceed USD 3 Billion
At the heart of Ault & Company's newly announced USD 55 million investment in Hyperscale Data is a single facility in Michigan whose contracted revenue potential could exceed USD 3 billion. ACS has executed a master services agreement covering an initial 20 megawatts of critical artificial intelligence compute capacity, with the customer holding the right to expand the deployment to a total of 52 MW.
According to Hyperscale Data, revenue from the initial 20 MW deployment is expected to exceed USD 1.2 billion if the master services agreement remains in effect for its maximum 20-year term. Should the customer exercise its expansion right and the additional capacity remain contracted for the applicable maximum term, total potential contract revenue could exceed USD 3.0 billion. The contemplated 52 MW deployment could represent less than 20% of the approximately 340 MW of total potential capacity that ACS believes could ultimately be available.
Hyperscale Data has cautioned that development of any capacity beyond the initial 20 MW remains subject to financing, regulatory approvals, engineering, utility agreements, infrastructure availability, customer demand, and other conditions. The company stated that there can be no assurance that additional capacity will be developed, financed, contracted, or placed into service.
The USD 55 Million Commitment
Ault & Company, Inc., a private holding company controlled by Milton "Todd" Ault III, announced on September 25, 2026, that it invested USD 55 million directly into Hyperscale Data, Inc. through the purchase of convertible preferred stock. That figure does not include funds expended by Ault & Company or any of its affiliates in purchasing Hyperscale Data common stock through open-market transactions. Ault & Company and its affiliates currently beneficially own approximately 62% of Hyperscale Data.
Further details on that ownership were disclosed in Schedule 13D/A Amendment No. 19, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 15, 2026. The holding company framed the purchase around what it sees as a significant disconnect between Hyperscale Data's current public market valuation and the value of the assets and businesses it owns. Ault & Company also highlighted several assets and opportunities that it believes support its long-term investment thesis.
Ault's Case and the Valuation Question
Milton "Todd" Ault III, Chief Executive Officer of Ault & Company and Executive Chairman of Hyperscale Data, said the investment reflects confidence in the value of Hyperscale Data's assets and future opportunities. He pointed to the Michigan campus, its executed customer agreement, existing capital investment, and expansion potential as central parts of the investment case. He also highlighted Hyperscale Data's broader portfolio of operating businesses and strategic assets.
Hyperscale Data management has stated that it presently believes the Michigan campus could support a valuation of approximately USD 750 million to USD 1.25 billion. The company has identified USD 750 million as the minimum valuation at which management currently believes a potential sale would merit serious consideration. Hyperscale Data noted that this range represents management's own assessment rather than an independent appraisal and does not guarantee that a transaction would occur at either amount.
The Broader Asset Base Behind the Thesis
Beyond the Michigan facility, Hyperscale Data's reported financial position and broader holdings form part of the investment backdrop. The company reported approximately USD 360 million in total assets as of June 30, 2026, reflecting its Michigan investment, operating businesses, and other holdings. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, it reported USD 34.8 million in consolidated revenue.
The company's interests extend beyond the Michigan AI data center and include defense and aerospace, crane rental, hotels, commercial lending, blockchain technology, and software. As of September 13, 2026, Hyperscale Data reported approximately USD 51 million in Bitcoin, cash, and restricted cash.
More Capital Could Follow
Ault & Company said it expects to continue evaluating additional investments in Hyperscale Data, including its right to purchase up to an additional USD 96 million of Series H convertible preferred stock. Any further investment would remain subject to market conditions, applicable securities laws, and other considerations. The company also noted that the announcement is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an offer to buy or sell common stock or any other securities.
