Vodafone Carrier Services Unveils Express Capacity to Boost European High-Bandwidth Data Center Connectivity
Vodafone Carrier Services launches Express Capacity, a new high-capacity connectivity offering delivering fast, flexible solutions for global networks amid

Vodafone is introducing a faster way for digital infrastructure operators to secure high-capacity connections across Europe.
Its Express Capacity service offers 100G and 400G links for organisations expanding cloud platforms, connecting data centres and preparing for additional AI workloads.
Faster Connections for Infrastructure Growth
For cloud providers, telecommunications companies, and hyperscalers, network availability can influence how quickly new infrastructure enters service. Vodafone says Express Capacity addresses this challenge by using existing capacity on pre-equipped routes across its European backbone.
The company targets service delivery within 15 days on selected routes, subject to provisioning and testing. Customers requiring customised configurations will receive individually agreed timelines. Orders are open, with activation available from November 2026.
European Data Centres Gain International Reach
Initial coverage includes London, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, and Marseille. The routes connect carrier-neutral data centres and extend to cable landing stations through Vodafone’s network.
Access to the Apollo, Amitié, Europe India Gateway, and SEA-ME-WE 5 submarine cable systems also connects the European footprint with wider international infrastructure.
Expansion Beyond Established Markets
Vodafone plans to extend the service beyond Europe’s traditional digital infrastructure hubs, including regions offering renewable energy and strong international connectivity.
The expansion is intended to support evolving requirements for data centre interconnection, sovereign cloud services, and AI computing. Vodafone says a 400G link can transfer up to 180 terabytes of data per hour, illustrating the capacity available for moving information between facilities.
Automation Forms Part of the Delivery Strategy
Alongside faster activation, Vodafone is developing automation across network configuration, service build, and testing. These improvements are intended to simplify delivery and give customers more efficient service management.
Oscar Monteagudo, Carrier Sales and Subsea Business Director at Vodafone Business, described the challenge as making capacity available where and when customers need it. Express Capacity also supports Vodafone’s broader move towards automated, on-demand networking and Network-as-a-Service models.
