BDx's West Java Groundbreaking Launches a 640 MW AI Data Center Campus
BDx breaks ground on 640MW AI data center campus in West Java, backed by 845MVA PLN power, $320M financing, and liquid cooling up to 500kW per rack.

BDx Data Centers has begun construction on a six-building artificial intelligence data center campus in Jatiluhur, West Java, that will eventually deliver 640 megawatts of IT capacity and draw on 845 megavolt-amperes of grid supply secured from Indonesian state utility PLN.
Sequential Build-Out Across Three Years
The project, known as AI Campus 2 or CGK4, follows a phased development model in which individual buildings are commissioned in sequence rather than simultaneously. Construction is currently active on Building 1, which will provide 120 megawatts of IT capacity in stages.
The first contracted phase of that building is scheduled to come online in early 2027, with the broader campus expected to reach full build-out over approximately three years. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 22, 2026, and drew attendance from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein, as well as leadership from BDx and BDx Indonesia. BDx described the phased commissioning approach as a mechanism suited to what it characterizes as the accelerating and evolving pace of customer demand for high-density AI infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
Engineering Specifications Designed for Next-Generation Accelerators
CGK4 has been built around a direct-to-chip liquid-cooling architecture capable of supporting up to 500 kilowatts per rack, a specification the company says is intended to accommodate current and future generations of AI accelerators. The campus received certification under the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Colocation Data Center program in April 2025.
The site sits approximately five kilometers from the Jatiluhur Dam. BDx stated it is actively pursuing lower-carbon power supply options for the campus, including a hydroelectric arrangement with PJT, the state-owned river basin authority managing the Jatiluhur reservoir system.
Financing and Indonesia's Investment Landscape
The CGK4 development is supported in part by a USD 320 million loan facility that BDx secured in 2026. The company described that financing as a significant milestone in its effort to accelerate AI-ready data center infrastructure across Asia. BDx identified Indonesia as one of the few Asia-Pacific markets that combines available grid capacity, campus-scale land availability, and strong domestic AI demand in a single location.
The country's Special Economic Zone incentives for large-scale infrastructure investment were also cited as a factor supporting the company's long-term development plans in the region. The 845 megavolt-amperes secured at CGK4 forms part of a larger power position BDx holds in Indonesia totaling 1.2 gigavolt-amperes across its AI-ready campuses in the country. That platform comprises three campuses: AI Campus 1, designated CGK3 and CGK3A; AI Campus 2, designated CGK4; and AI Campus 3, designated CGK5.
Demand from Hyperscalers and Global Technology Firms
BDx said CGK4 is already drawing interest from multiple hyperscalers alongside global technology companies, AI-native cloud providers, and enterprises seeking AI-ready capacity in Southeast Asia and other markets. The company said the pace of inbound interest reflects how rapidly customer requirements are growing. Mayank Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer of BDx Data Centers, said CGK4 represents a long-term investment in the infrastructure needed to support Indonesia's next phase of digital and AI development.
He described the campus as anchoring a growing AI ecosystem in West Java and said it was designed to bring advanced AI workloads into production more quickly while providing customers with a reliable path as demand scales. Agus Hartono Wijaya, Chief Executive Officer of BDx Indonesia, placed the project in the context of sovereign digital infrastructure, stating that the facility enables local enterprises, government agencies, and developers to run advanced AI workloads within Indonesia while generating skilled employment and long-term economic value in West Java.
BDx's Position Across Asia-Pacific
BDx Data Centers develops and operates AI-ready data center infrastructure serving hyperscale, cloud, AI, and enterprise customers across the Asia-Pacific region. The company currently has operations in Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong SAR, and the Taiwan region, and is backed by investment firm I Squared Capital. The company described CGK4 as reflecting its broader strategic positioning as an AI-first digital infrastructure platform.
That positioning combines secured power access, high-density facility design, advanced cooling systems, standardized engineering processes, and local market execution capability, with the stated aim of accelerating delivery timelines across key digital markets in the region.
