Bitdeer AI Locks In 10-Year Lease on 67 MW A901 AI Campus in Malaysia

Bitdeer AI has secured a 67 MW AI Cloud data center campus in Malaysia under a 10-year data center services agreement, but as of the October 8, 2026 announcement, no offtake commitments have been signed for the facility, which is known as A901.

Capacity Without Commitments

The company, a unit of Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR) and a preferred NVIDIA Cloud Partner, said the deal lifts its secured AI Cloud data center capacity to approximately 273.5MW — defined as capacity owned or under an executed data center services agreement — across Malaysia, Norway and the United States. That equates to roughly 78% of its stated goal of up to 350MW targeted for delivery by the first quarter of 2028.

Rack-Scale GB300 Systems by Q2 2027

A901 is being engineered to host liquid-cooled, rack-scale NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems aimed at next-generation enterprise AI workloads. Initial capacity delivery is targeted for the first quarter of 2027, with the full 67MW slated for the second quarter of that year.

All megawatt figures in the announcement refer to critical IT load. The campus gives Bitdeer AI a third Malaysian site, complementing existing facilities in Cyberjaya and Johor. Michael G. Potter, Chief Financial Officer of Bitdeer Technologies Group, said demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI capacity in Southeast Asia is running ahead of what the market can deliver, with customers requesting capacity earlier and in larger blocks. He added that A901 widens the set of locations and delivery dates the company can offer customers.

A USD 10 Billion Estimate the Company Says Is Not Backlog

Alongside the A901 agreement, Bitdeer AI reported that its active pipeline for AI Cloud capacity is estimated to exceed USD 10 billion, reflecting strong demand for uncontracted capacity across its AI Cloud sites. The company expects the pipeline to continue growing, though it noted that contract value per megawatt varies with service mix, contract duration and site. '

The company was careful to qualify the figure. The pipeline represents management's estimate of the aggregate potential contract value of opportunities under commercial discussion, not backlog, revenue, an executed contract or a binding commitment. It is calculated using assumptions on capacity, term, pricing and service mix that may not be realized, and Bitdeer AI stated there is no assurance that any portion of the pipeline will convert into executed contracts.

No Guarantee A901 Fills on Schedule or on Comparable Terms

Bitdeer AI cautioned that commercial discussions relating to A901 may not result in executed contracts at all, and that any contracts signed may not be executed on any particular timeline — including before capacity is delivered.

It further warned that terms may not be comparable to those previously announced by Bitdeer Technologies Group, noting that prior contract terms, including those announced for the A102 and A201 facilities, may not be indicative of future results.
