From Data Centers to Steam at 175°C, Copeland Maps Out Its Chillventa 2026 Lineup

Copeland used a Sept. 29 announcement issued from St. Louis to confirm its participation at Chillventa 2026, the refrigeration and HVAC sector's European showcase, scheduled for Oct. 13-15 in Nuremberg, Germany.

The company, described as a global leader in compression technologies and controls solutions, will use the event to present a portfolio it says is aimed squarely at the shifting demands of the European market: rising cooling loads from data centers, accelerating heat pump adoption, and a broader move toward natural refrigerants.

Attendees will find the company in Hall 5, Booth #132. According to the announcement, customers across Europe are contending with rapid change, with demand growing for energy-efficient cooling, electrified heating, and sustainable industrial operations. Copeland states that it continues to invest in technologies, capabilities, and partnerships intended to help customers navigate changing regulatory requirements while pursuing sustainability objectives.

AI Compute Loads and Oil-Free Centrifugal Compressors

Among the most prominent items on display will be oil-free centrifugal compressors built with Aero-lift™ bearing technology, which the company is positioning as a thermal management answer to the growth of AI data centers. Copeland says the technology is optimized for low-GWP refrigerants, specifically R-513A, R-515B and R-1234ze, and is intended to support growing computational power loads while helping maintain grid stability.

High-Temperature Heat for Industry

Industrial decarbonization forms another major pillar of the exhibit. Copeland will present the Vilter VQ95 single-screw heat pump for high-temperature industrial use, alongside its expanded industrial heat pump and process-heating capabilities. Those capabilities include technologies able to generate hot water up to 180°C and process steam up to 175°C, which the company says supports industrial decarbonization goals.

Variable-Speed Compression for Electrified Heating

On the heating side of the booth, the company will show variable-speed compression technologies designed for a wide variety of heat pump applications, aimed at delivering energy savings and enhanced comfort. Also on view will be advanced inverter swing rotary compressors developed in partnership with Daikin. Copeland says these compressors are intended to simplify OEM system integration and support the electrification of heating across European homes.

CO₂ and Propane Take Center Stage in Refrigeration

The refrigeration lineup will highlight natural refrigerants throughout. Copeland plans to display CO₂ (R-744) scroll refrigeration units for decentralized retail refrigeration and CO₂ refrigeration compression solutions for centralized booster systems. Energy-efficient propane (R-290) compressors for display cases will also be demonstrated. Rounding out the connected cold chain offering is Bueno Analytics software, which the company says helps customers improve operational efficiency and proactively identify system issues.

Recent Deals and Capacity Expansions Behind the Booth

The technologies arriving in Nuremberg are backed, according to Copeland, by a series of strategic investments tied to Europe's long-term energy and climate priorities. On the acquisition front, the company has bought Germany-based SPH Sustainable Process Heat, added Bueno Analytics to expand its digital capabilities, and announced a transaction with Dickson that strengthens its environmental monitoring and cold chain offerings.

Manufacturing and partnerships have been expanded in parallel. Copeland has increased manufacturing capacity in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, added new Factory Acceptance Testing capabilities for industrial heat pump solutions, and extended its joint venture with Daikin to advance residential heat pump technologies in Europe. Taken together, the company says these investments strengthen its ability to help customers address decarbonization and building performance priorities across residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

One Portfolio Spanning the Exhibit Floor

The scope of the showcase is deliberately broad, running from AI data centers and industrial manufacturing to food retail and residential heating. Copeland frames its compression, controls and software technologies as a single connected set of tools designed to improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure.
