Digital Reef Links 3.3GW Data Centre Pipeline to Vertical Farming in Elevate Farms and Xange.com Partnership

A partnership announced from London and Toronto will connect a planned global data centre build-out with indoor agriculture and digitally verified environmental reporting. Digital Reef Ltd and Elevate Farms Inc. have agreed to a framework under which Digital Reef's infrastructure pipeline will support and draw on environmental assets generated by Elevate Farms' closed-loop vertical farming operations, while Luxembourg-based Xange.com International Holding S.à r.l. has been appointed to verify the project's environmental impact within the Reef Origin ecosystem.

Verified Reporting at the Core

Xange.com's role sits within the Reef Origin impact fund and centres on digital measurement, reporting and verification, known as dMRV. The company will track energy and water consumption, carbon offsets and the environmental assets produced by Elevate Farms, with the stated aim of completely verifiable carbon and conservation accounting. Xange.com is an environmental intelligence software and market infrastructure firm serving governments and enterprises with digital MRV systems, market infrastructure, sustainability reporting and participation in environmental markets aligned with Article 6.

The three-way alliance will deploy Internet of Things technology at Elevate Farms' latest facility in the United Arab Emirates. According to the announcement, the alliance is supported by several UAE universities and promotes food sovereignty globally alongside high-level efficiency in land, water, energy and fertiliser resources.

What Elevate Farms Brings

Elevate Farms describes its proprietary vertical farming technology as reducing water consumption, land usage and carbon emissions. By replacing traditional agricultural supply chains with optimized indoor facilities, the partners say food production carbon emissions, water waste and local land constraints are significantly reduced. The company states the approach isolates food production from the variables of traditional farming, saving more than 95 percent of standard water requirements while cutting both the farmland needed for equivalent yields and logistical carbon.

The company describes itself as technology-driven, using proprietary automation, advanced photobiology and ultra-precise climate controls to produce high-density, nutrient-rich crops at a fraction of the environmental cost, saving substantial volumes of fresh water, minimizing land use and eliminating chemical runoff from the global food chain.

What the Executives Said

Digital Reef CEO Piers Slater said the company embraces data centre growth alongside environmental accountability. He said Elevate joining the Digital Reef ecosystem integrates highly disruptive, resource-saving agricultural technology with the company's environmental strategy to mitigate industrial carbon, building hyper-efficient infrastructure at scale to protect natural ecosystems.

Elevate Farms CEO Amin Jadavji said the company's mission has always been to build a sustainable, scalable agricultural baseline using less land and water than previously thought possible. He said partnering with Digital Reef creates a direct nexus between the computational demands of tomorrow and the foundational resource requirements of the planet, facilitating digital expansion complemented by an automated, near-zero-waste food supply model.

The Digital Reef Pipeline

Digital Reef is the digital infrastructure business of London-based Reef Origin and is developing a global 3.3GW data centre pipeline. The pipeline aims to deliver ecosystems that co-locate sustainable digital, clean energy, food, water, industry, community and ecology infrastructure, delivered against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Reef Origin itself is described as a sustainability-focused global real estate, infrastructure and technology developer and investor, with a pipeline of projects exceeding $40 billion in enterprise value.

A Parallel Rainforest Agreement

The announcement also references a separate recent Digital Reef agreement. At Climate Week NYC, Digital Reef and Oreasoc Agriculture Inc. signed an offtake agreement connecting Digital Reef's 3.3 GW data centre pipeline with environmental assets covering more than 30 million hectares of South American Amazon rainforest. That agreement aims to mitigate the environmental footprint of data centre growth through rainforest protection and restoration, and likewise appoints Xange.com as digital MRV partner.

Caveats on Forward-Looking Statements

The press release cautions that it contains forward-looking statements, including those about project pipelines and the expected environmental outcomes of the agreement. These reflect current expectations and are subject to risks and uncertainties, including regulatory approvals, market conditions and project delivery, and the companies state that actual results may differ materially. The release is for information only and does not constitute an offer or invitation to invest. Media enquiries are being handled by Jude Slater of Reef Origin.
