Vertiv Adds 22,000 Square Metres of AI Data Center Manufacturing in Slovakia

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) is transforming its Nové Mesto nad Váhom site in Slovakia into what the company describes as a highly integrated manufacturing and technology campus, combining engineering expertise, operational excellence, and production capabilities in a single ecosystem.

Announced on Sept. 28, 2026, the project will add approximately 22,000 square meters of new manufacturing space over the next 18 to 24 months.

A Campus Being Reshaped Around AI-era Demand

The new capacity will be dedicated to producing power, switchgear, and thermal management technologies, including advanced liquid cooling and power solutions aimed at high-density AI and high-performance computing applications.

According to Vertiv, integrating these functions on one campus should improve responsiveness to customized requests, accelerate delivery, and make the company's EMEA supply chain more resilient.

Time-to-Token Drives the Investment Case

For Vertiv, the timing reflects a shift in what customers are asking for. Paul Ryan, president of Vertiv in EMEA, said the company keeps investing in manufacturing capabilities across EMEA as AI and other critical digital applications grow in the region.

He added that the Nové Mesto nad Váhom expansion will enhance the company's ability to support customers deploying increasingly critical digital infrastructure while strengthening capabilities for next-generation AI and high-performance computing.

Ryan pointed to reducing time-to-token, the interval between infrastructure deployment and the business value generated by AI workloads, as a key priority for customers now racing to adopt AI. With deployment speed treated as a competitive advantage, Vertiv says the investment will help bring critical power and cooling capacity online faster and at scale.

Hiring Wave Planned for 2027 through 2029

The expansion is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs between 2027 and 2029, spanning manufacturing, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, technical, and leadership roles. Vertiv frames the hiring plan as part of a long-term commitment to building the talent, skills, and expertise needed for the future of critical digital infrastructure.
