YIT secures new contract for interior finishing of third data center
The agreement, confirmed in an investor news release from YIT Corporation dated September 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., comes on the back of a completed shell and core phase for the building.
Work under the newly signed agreement is slated to begin in late 2026. As with previous phases, the two parties have opted to keep the contract value confidential.
Aleksi Laine points to partnership depth and delivery record
Aleksi Laine, EVP of YIT's Infrastructure segment, framed the new contract as a sign of mutual confidence.
In his view, the decision by XTX Markets to hand YIT the interior finishing phase and MEP works of the third data center reflects both the strength of the relationship between the companies and trust in YIT's capacity to carry out demanding projects safely, to a high standard, and on schedule.
"Our long-term collaboration allows us to continuously improve our operating practices and further enhance project efficiency. We are delighted to continue supporting XTX Markets in the expansion of its data center campus in Kajaani," Laine stated in the release.
Computing capacity push backed by USD 1.12 billion commitment
The Kajaani complex sits within a wider investment program by XTX Markets, the trading firm whose plans for the site are aimed at securing future computing capacity. The company has previously publicized an intention to invest more than USD 1.12 billion in building a state-of-the-art data center campus in Kajaani.
The latest contract keeps the expansion moving forward. Under the arrangement announced, YIT will handle the fit-out and MEP works of the third facility, though the financial terms remain undisclosed by both companies.
Kajaani build-out traces back to the first agreement in 2024
The third data center is the newest chapter in a project series that began two years ago. YIT and XTX Markets first agreed on the construction of a data center in Kajaani in 2024, with a second facility following in 2025.
YIT disclosed the construction of the third data center in July 2026. In total, YIT is delivering three data centers for XTX Markets at the Finnish site.

According to YIT, its extensive experience, a proven record in complex project delivery, and customer trust have cemented its standing as Finland's leading data center constructor. The Kajaani deal lands during a busy stretch for the company.
