SAMSUNG SDI Brings UPS, BBU, SBB and New Cylindrical LFP Battery to DCWA 2026 in Singapore

SAMSUNG SDI is showcasing battery solutions and a product lineup optimized for AI data centers at Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2026, which opened in Singapore on Sept. 29, the company announced. The company said it will continue delivering differentiated solutions for AI data center customers.

Asia's Largest Data Center Exhibition

DCWA is Asia's largest data center exhibition, bringing together the entire data center ecosystem, from design and construction to operations and management. More than 600 companies are participating in this year's event.

SAMSUNG SDI said it will use the exhibition to meet with global customers to share updates on technology development and conduct marketing activities and will also participate in a technical conference to present its battery solutions.

Four Dedicated Zones at the Booth

At DCWA 2026, SAMSUNG SDI's exhibition booth features four dedicated zones covering Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Battery Backup Unit (BBU), Samsung Battery Box (SBB), and Cell Line-up. The zones highlight a range of battery products powered by the company's differentiated technologies.

UPS Zone: Industry-Leading Safety Performance

At the UPS zone located at the center of the booth, SAMSUNG SDI is showcasing its UPS solution, which recently became the first in the world to satisfy all requirements of the Indoor Large Scale Fire Test (Indoor LSFT) conducted by UL Solutions, a global safety science certifier.

LSFT is a safety evaluation designed to verify the risks of battery explosions and thermal propagation. According to the company, SAMSUNG SDI's UPS solution satisfied all test requirements, demonstrating industry-leading safety performance.

BBU Zone: Cylindrical Batteries for Emergency Backup Power

The BBU zone features SAMSUNG SDI's cylindrical battery lineup optimized for emergency backup power applications in AI data centers. The lineup includes the company's high-power, high-capacity 21700 nickel-based battery, which is equipped with a bottom-vent design for enhanced safety.

First Unveiling of a Cylindrical LFP Battery

At the exhibition, SAMSUNG SDI is unveiling its cylindrical LFP battery for the first time. Based on the company's proprietary structural technology, the battery delivers enhanced power output and capacity while further improving safety, according to SAMSUNG SDI.

SBB Zone: Integrated ESS Solution

The SBB zone showcases prismatic lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries designed for Samsung Battery Box (SBB) 2.0, SAMSUNG SDI's integrated energy storage system (ESS) solution. By combining SAMSUNG SDI's proprietary prismatic form factor with LFP chemistry, the batteries offer enhanced performance and safety, the company said.

Continued Focus on Data Center Customers

"Building on our battery technologies that deliver enhanced performance and safety, SAMSUNG SDI will continue to introduce differentiated solutions that address the diverse needs of data center customers," said a SAMSUNG SDI official.
